Love watching the friendly staff put my food order together. Pizzas, pastas, chicken schnitzels, salads, all highly recommended. They have dine-in space, just across the one way Lane.
Overview
If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Sydney, then Made In Italy Sydney CBD is a must-visit spot. Nestled at 37 York Ln, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia, this charming restaurant brings a piece of Italy straight to the bustling CBD. Known for its cozy atmosphere and mouthwatering dishes, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stepped into a traditional trattoria in Rome or Florence.
The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the unmistakable aroma of fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and the savory scents of olive oil and garlic. The vibe here is warm and welcoming, with a rustic interior that transports you straight to Italy. The small space is filled with vibrant energy, whether you're grabbing a quick bite during lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner with friends.
The menu at Made In Italy Sydney CBD is a celebration of the very best of Italian flavors. Each dish is crafted with care, using the freshest ingredients that reflect the country’s diverse culinary regions. From the classic Margherita pizza with its perfectly charred crust to their rich and creamy risottos, there’s something for every palate. The pasta is made in-house, giving it an authentic, handmade quality that’s hard to find in most restaurants.
One standout dish is the Tagliatelle al Tartufo, a rich truffle pasta that truly showcases the kitchen’s skill. The fresh tagliatelle is coated in a velvety sauce, enhanced by the earthy aroma of truffle oil, and served with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan. It's a dish that feels indulgent but balanced-perfect for anyone looking to experience something truly special.
The pizza at Made In Italy Sydney CBD deserves a mention too. The wood-fired pizzas here are crispy, thin, and packed with flavor. The Pizza Quattro Formaggi-a delightful combination of four cheeses-perfectly captures the essence of Italian pizza. The use of high-quality ingredients like mozzarella, gorgonzola, and parmesan makes each bite a cheesy delight, and the tomato base is fresh and tangy, complementing the richness of the cheese.
For those who prefer something lighter, the Insalata di Rucola (rocket salad) is a refreshing choice. Topped with shaved Parmesan, pine nuts, and a drizzle of balsamic, it's a crisp and flavorful side that pairs beautifully with any of the pasta or pizza dishes. It’s a simple dish, but the quality of the ingredients speaks for itself.
The wine list at Made In Italy Sydney CBD is thoughtfully curated to complement the menu. From crisp whites like Pinot Grigio to full-bodied reds such as Chianti, there’s a wine for every dish. For those who prefer something more adventurous, the restaurant also offers a selection of Italian aperitifs and cocktails, including the popular Negroni, which adds a bit of Italian flair to your meal.
What really sets this place apart, however, is the service. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're new to Italian food or a seasoned enthusiast, they’re eager to make your dining experience memorable.
Another thing to note is the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity. It’s evident in every dish, every ingredient, and every detail of the experience. The owners have clearly worked hard to bring a slice of Italy to Sydney, and it shows. You can taste the passion and dedication in each bite, which is what keeps customers coming back for more.
Made In Italy Sydney CBD is perfect for a casual meal with friends or a romantic evening out. Whether you're in the mood for pasta, pizza, or just a glass of wine, this restaurant offers an experience that transports you to Italy without ever leaving the city. With its blend of authentic Italian cuisine, cozy ambiance, and attentive service, it’s no wonder this spot has earned such rave reviews.
Next time you find yourself in the CBD, make sure to stop by 37 York Ln for a taste of Italy that’s as close as it gets without hopping on a plane.

Made in Italy is small restaurant with bar and serves delicious food. We enjoyed the pasta and pizzas both. The prices are average, service is quick and it's a good spot for work lunch.
Made in Italy, amazing pizza. The lady I spoke to on the phone this evening (Thur)(I didn’t catch her name) was so lovely & patient with me. The delivery was quick, & honestly, one of the best pizzas I’ve had in the CBD. Highly recommend. I will order every time i am in the city.
Great pizza, and amazing service. We had a large order lost in the stratosphere. When I called to check, the team committed to making all 17 pizza and they were delivered in 40 mins. Thanks for making sure we had our team lunch!
It is our last night in Australia and after a long day we decided to get a takeaway delivery. Opting for a pizza we found made in Italy would deliver to our hotel. Nice and easy to order and added some extras to our pizza. Super quick delivery by the young man who rang to say he was in the lobby, very polite so gave a tip. Lovely thin base, crisp edges and lots of flavour. I managed to polish off my whole pizza, my partner only managed half…. Fingers crossed I will get some of hers for breakfast as looked delicious. Thanks for a prompt service and great pizza. I can’t rate the atmosphere as didn’t psychically got to collect or dine in.
An unassuming pizza and pasta place hidden away in an alley. I had "Made in Italy" pizza which had eggplants, artichokes, anchovies and olives. Thin crispy crust (rolled dough rather than hand stretched?) pizza. It was a great in between meal snack for two people (6 slices in total). There's a table and a few chairs outside if you wanted to sit there to eat but the alleyway itself has no charm (car traffic, office workers taking a cigarette breaks, and garbage bins....).
Tried the Gamberi pizza, and was knocked over by the flavoursome hit! There's not much topping but the cheese and sauce made up for it. The base is the perfect thickness/thinness too :)
I have ordered pizzas from Made in Italy for team get togethers for the last couple of years. The website is very easy to use for online orders and the food is always delivered pipping hot and bang on time
